Alicia is the Conservation Technology Coordinator for TNC California’s land, ocean, water, and climate programs. Alicia develops geospatial tools and maps to support conservation and stewardship decision making. At her time at TNC, Alicia has analyzed the state’s progress to 30x30, developed a survey and visualization tool for the Bowtie Demonstration project in southern California, and analyzed historical development over time at the city, county, and state level.

Alicia holds a master’s degree from the Bren School of Environmental Science and Management at University of California, Santa Barbara, and a B.S. in Environmental Studies from University of California, Santa Barbara. As part of her graduate research, she developed a conservation tool for a non-profit environmental organization using R that redesigned Modern Portfolio theory to improve spatial recovery planning for Oregon Coast Coho Salmon. 

What Alicia is working on now:

Alicia is currently supporting the California Missing Linkages connectivity project, helping identify and map critical wildlife linkage corridors that improve landscape connectivity and ecosystem resilience across the state.
