John joined The Nature Conservancy in 2016 to accelerate the use of capital markets for conservation in California.
Prior to TNC, John built energy analytics businesses within Hewlett Packard to address electric utilities’ smart metering challenges in Europe and Asia. Earlier experience includes VC investing in clean technology, and operating experience at startups. John holds MBA and M.S. Environmental Science degrees from University of Michigan, and ScB Electrical Engineering from Brown University.
What John is working on now:
John's current work covers a range of topics, including use of low-cost "impact" capital to accelerate conservation acquisitions, and financial analysis of on-farm impact of regenerative agricultural practices.
