Jessi Ayers is a River Scientist in the California Water Program where she provides scientific support for efforts that improve in-stream flows. Her expertise helps to inform water management that balance ecological needs with human water use. Jessi plays a key role in advancing the California Environmental Flows Framework (CEFF) and translating data into actionable strategies for in-stream flow criteria.

Prior to joining TNC, Jessi worked at the U.S. Geological Survey focusing on surface water-groundwater interactions and evapotranspiration dynamics. She brings a deep commitment to using science to inform decision making and improve ecosystem health.

When Jessi's not nerding out on water science, she loves to spend time with friends. She really enjoys dancing, yoga and cooking for others. Getting outdoors is important to her as well- she loves to travel to nearby hot springs, hike in the Sierras or explore new spots!
